SCSS Files not rendering on save (only on version 8.5.5)

Describe the bug
SCSS Files not rendering in version 8.5.5, version 8.5.4 and below work perfectly. We tested version 8.5.4.
EDIT: Also today I opened the same file a couple of times and every time it opens it as a new file with a different number in front of its name. It could be related to the issue.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to css folder in assets (wp)
2. Open all scss files and style.scss in the end along with style.css
3. Click Watch SCSS in VSC (or whatever IDE you use)
4. See error

Expected behavior
SCSS Files should all successfully render (given that the css/scss was written accordingly)
