I saw a CTCP message which is not in the RFC the other day. WeeChat uses it with BitlBee.im to send "typing..." notifications from IRC which doesn't have support for showing when users type to other IM services which do have support for it.

See: https://weechat.org/scripts/source/bitlbee_typing_notice.py.html/

Should this be included?

Hey flotwig, thanks for the yell! I'm mostly including stuff that's pretty widely-used and has a standard format. I know that PSYC also mentions a TYPING message here, but I'm not sure whether that's the same sort of syntax that script uses.

I do admit, I'd probably be more interested in it if many other clients implement it by default rather than as an external script, but it's definitely something to look at.

All else fails I'll document it on this page for now instead:

As a note, I'll have a look at this, see how many clients out there support it and document it based on that. Thanks again for giving me a yell about it!
