Create a new minor release

Hi @theotherphil @ripytide , is there a plan to create a new release for the crates io?

The last release was three month ago, and there was some changes and fixes on master but not yet release. It would be great to release those changes to crate io.

Sounds good to me, there are four issues labelled with blocks-release likely needing to be addressed before the next release: #667, #664, #661, #653.

#661 and #667 may need more discussion (unless people are happy with my suggestions in them) but the other two seem fairly straightforward.
