So, as the title states I'm in the middle of trying to create an Arch setup with Hyprland alongside a VM with GPU passthrough. Currently I have a 7900XTX as a DGPU and the iGPU from the 7950X3D in my system
I am trying to use the iGPU for my second monitor, so that when I boot my VM I won't lose control over the host system.
Currently the second monitor is plugged into the motherboards' HDMI port so that when the DGPU unbinds from the amgpu-drivers I'll still have output onto the second monitor (at least this was my logic, though I'm not sure if this will work at all tbh).
Now onto the main issue, after connecting the second monitor to the motherboards' HDMI, Hyprland doesn't work properly on it, my cursor cannot move to my second monitor even though I can see the border color light up as if the cursor is interacting with a window that is in tiling mode on the second monitor but nothing happens (I'll try to see if I can get a video of it)
Unsure of what outputs would be relevant as I don't know what causes this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated
I have done a bunch of searches but not sure if it's just a really rare problem or my search engine just wouldn't show relevant results.
I'm not a big fan of starting discussions (I haven't been stuck on this issue long, so I'll probably figure it out myself eventually, just thought I could start a discussion for anyone in the future with a similar issue)
Edit nr1: I just rebooted my system and Hyprland behaves quite strangely on boot, first off it just starts with a freeze for like 1 min(?), then after it unfreezes it works as normal only on my main monitor
Edit nr2: So I'm still on the same user session as edit nr1 but it just started working for whatever reason, not sure if the issue will reappear when rebooting, will update the post accordingly
Edit nr3: Okay, so the issue reappeared, hoping it will go away after a while like last time, but I need to fix this. Mid reboot I had the idea to check my bios for the Integrated graphics option and discovered it was on auto, switched it to force on hoping that would make all my worries disappear, alas they did not.
