There are two requests to use the plugin in the Hiero context for contract compilation:

Provide ability to more easily compile Solidity contracts hashgraph/hedera-services#7456 (tests in hedera-services)
new project by @rbair23

Before we integrate it permanently, we require two updates in the plugin itself:

Improve external dependencies (npm packages) resolving: Generalize implementation of ImportsResolver to allow imports from arbitrary npm packages hyperledger-web3j/web3j-solidity-gradle-plugin#78
Make the plugin configuratin cache compatible and not have it trigger deprecation warnings with the current Gradle version (@jjohannes will provide a PR for that once (1) is resolved)
