I'd recommend putting the hub wherever is easiest, and using whatever install method you prefer. It should be perfectly fine in LXC. Just make sure the hub's host can connect to the agent host. Where you should install the agent depends on what you want to monitor. If you want to monitor the total resources of the host, you should install directly on the host. Note that currently if you want to run the agent in LXC and monitor only the resources of the container, you need to use the binary. If running the agent in LXC using docker, it will show host resource usage. The goal is to fix this eventually so please do not rely on this behavior. We may add better integration with proxmox in the future. See #281 for more info. |

Hi, Thanks for the info, that clarifies things for me :) FYI ... Having recently disovered the power of overlay networks, so thinking of running the hub in a docker container in the cloud alongside this... https://tailscale.com/kb/1282/docker I'm thinking, as your hub pulls info from the agents.... I'll end up with a central hub which can securely and seemlessly with zero config connect to any agent any where also on the tailscale network, or too multiple agents at a remote location running a tailscale subnet router. (even more seemles if i utlized tailscales magic-dns entries on the hub) |

what is the recommended way to monitor the host (proxmox), since running the agent in LXC using docker , monitor the host.... i am wondering if it is not better this way, to avoid hypothetic issue when it is time to update the host ..... i mean is the beszel binary install on the host resist the update of the host os ? also is the running the agent in LXC using docker provide the exact same data as installing the binary directly on the host ? I am usually reluctant install anything directly on the host :) but could just be me. |

Hi, was wondering which of the following sceanrios people would recommend...
install beszel hub in a lxc container running docker and the binary agent on the proxmox host itself
install beszel hub in a vm running docker and the binary agent on the proxmox host itself
install binary hub and binary agent on the proxmox host itself and the binary agent on each vm and ct (apart from any vm/ct running docker)
Basically always preferred NOT to isntall any additional software on the host itself
thanks
