Main culprit seems to be the clusterfck k-means implementation:

Update: the skmeans library seems to be much slower than clusterfck for the kind of problem we're trying to solve.

Some possibilities:

https://github.com/javascriptdata/scikit.js?utm_source=pocket_saves (needs to install tfjs runtime to get decent speed);
https://github.com/ycatbink0t/kmeans-wasm/ (would have to refactor tool to use ES modules to be able to use, in the first place);
https://github.com/stdlib-js/ml-incr-kmeans (slow)
