All it takes is a split second of distraction to destroy lives. The current de facto navigation technology forces the users to take their eyes off the road to ingest data. With Navi, we allow mixing realities and transfer of data from the digital world to the physical world using the power of augmented reality.
The technology is packed in an Android app with ARCore and an easy to use interactive interface. All the navigation information required to get to your desination is seamlessly available on the screen. A little math, power of amazing libraries and some powerful sensors have enabled us to hack this product.
Navi is available as an Android app. It comes with two modes - driving mode and walking mode for different navigation purposes. We tested walking and tuned some parameters to get the best effects. For driving, it can be mounted on the windscreen such that roads can be seen through it.
Navi is your one stop solution to navigation.
🔦 Any other specific thing you want to highlight?
Yes, we used Vuforia with Unity earlier but later found out that it doesn't support many devices; so we explored ARCore and finally switched to it because we prefer coding in Java.
We didn't test the driving mode but we hope that it'll work.
We had issues with AR calibration but we hope to get them solved as we learn more and the libraries evolve!
