Description:

There is a significant demand for the ability to filter hosts using tags and user macros in Grafana. Currently, the absence of this feature limits filtering to hostgroups only. This limitation forces us to create numerous hostgroups and subhostgroups, which is not efficient.

Proposed Solution:

Enable filtering using user macro names and values. This enhancement will provide more flexibility in the types of filtering we can perform and significantly reduce the need to create hostgroups solely for Grafana dashboards.

Benefits:

Increased flexibility in filtering options.
Reduced number of hostgroups and subhostgroups.
Streamlined dashboard creation and management.
