So, the question is, given how developer-oriented the OpenType spec is, is there need/room for a brief guide to the OpenType spec for type designers? It would explain the tables and the like in plain English. It would not replace the spec, but be a first thing to read, prior to trying to tackle the full spec (or at least, the parts they need for whatever purpose).
Another question: if this is worth doing, should it be part of the main GF doc? Or a separate item?
