I should have been more explicit.My query was re. the acceptability of अ़.
as a valid syllable. As per the rule of the Brahmi syllable the nukta is
normally appended to consonants to show characters which are not part of a
given language's character set. A special rule would need to be written to
handle the nukta appended to अ, otherwise it will be treated as a
malformed syllable.
