Marker no show for a few runs or at all

Describe the bug

Marker overlay (i.e., overlaying table data on image) may take a few runs to show up or not at all. This behavior was reported in Firefox (a few runs) and Safari (not at all) by @ibusko on OSX.

p.s. Worked fine for me on Chrome on Windows + WSL2.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior such as:

1. Run notebooks/Astronomy/W5/W5%20Tutorial.ipynb.
2. See it happen, or not.

Expected behavior
Marker would consistently show regardless of OS or browser.
