How can I trigger the presentsWithTransaction code path when using the Metal backend

In the WGPU metal hal layer, there is a special present mode called presentsWithTransaction:

My question is how I can trigger this path from the public API? it doesn't seem to be exposed by the public API?

or do I have to provide my own CAMetalLayer with presentsWithTransaction set to YES?
