Getting Vulkan backend errors from env_logger

I'm trying to get started using wgpu, and when I run my code I get two errors in my log:

The Vulkan spec states: Each element of pImageIndices must be the index of a presentable image acquired from the swapchain specified by the corresponding element of the pSwapchains array, and the presented image subresource must be in the VK_IMAGE_LAYOUT_PRESENT_SRC_KHR layout at the time the operation is executed on a VkDevice (https://github.com/KhronosGroup/Vulkan-Docs/search?q=VUID-VkPresentInfoKHR-pImageIndices-01296)

The problem that I'm running into is that they show up even when I use completely different code. I've tried running some of the examples and I get the same problem, which means that it's either a bug in wgpu (unlikely imo) or something wrong on my machine. I have no idea where to start looking for that problem, and googling the errors brings up a bunch of people with this problem from using Vulkan, which isn't very helpful. Anyone know where I would find the cause of this (Ubuntu 20.04)? The specific example that I've tested this on is hello-triangle.

For anyone who finds this in the future: the issue is probably that your Vulkan SDK is out of date. You can check it using vulkaninfo, and instructions for updating are at https://packages.lunarg.com/.
