This file describes changes in the PackageManager package.
1.6 (2024-09-19)
- Deprecate functions beginning "InstallPackageFrom", instead preferring
InstallPackage as a single entry point.

- Improve Julia code for downloading files
- Widespread restructuring of code to aid maintainability
1.5 (2024-08-30)
- Add 'keepDirectory' option to avoid deleting directories on failure
- Require GAP version 4.12 or later
- Allow package installation to continue even when compilation or
documentation fails
- Deprecate Mercurial support, which is now hard to test
- Print less unnecessary output during installation
1.4.4 (2024-07-29)
- Fix code changing the current directory (fixes an issue when installing
the `recog` package from directly its source code repository)
- Allow switching off interactive mode in `InstallPackage` also when
installing from a source code repository
- Fix weird issues on systems with `.` in the `PATH` environment variable
and the current directory contains a file with a name like `git` matching
that of a program PackageManager needs to execute.
1.4.3 (2024-01-12)
- Janitorial changes (adjust tests to pass with package validation
in GAP 4.13 making the `License` field mandatory)
1.4.2 (2023-12-20)
- Add 'debug' option which preserves directories resulting from
failed package installations
- Simplify bundled `BuildPackages.sh` script (should not affect users)

- Switch to new GAP package distribution
- Add custom download code for when PackageManager is used within Julia
1.4.0 (2023-02-04)

script instead of relying on GAP's BuildPackages.sh

- More informative error output
1.3.1 (2022-10-02)
- Handle different versions of tar
