When used as a Wiki, it is important to be able to list all files in a directory.
I wouldn't make this the default behavior when accessing a directory, but it should definitely be possible and easy.
Maybe Gone-style would be introducing a file extension. When opening a file with that extension, the directory index is displayed. It could be made the default action for that directory by naming it "index.extension", where we must yet decide about the extension.
The file contents would then configure the directory listing, i.e. filtering files, displaying files from sub directories, assigning a template, printing JSON data, ...
