I'm filing this as a 'someday/maybe' idea - would love to document how to run FontForge as a web app using xpra.org and even provide a live demo server like this.

JavaScript can be used to create a complete a web app and has less latency compared to transferring data from a virtual machine, but it is quite time consuming to complete.
