Display permanently darker

Hi, after downloading the software, I reduced the brightness of my external monitor (Apple cinema display), but couldn't turn it back up to its original brightness. I cranked it up to the max but it's much darker than before. I tried deleting the app and restarting the laptop but the external screen is still too dark. How can I remedy this? thank you.

I am having the same issue. Any ideas how to resolve this ?

I uninstalled, hooked another computer (PC) and turned up the brightness there.
