Upsert resource isn't working

The routes published by this plugin, either support post [resource doesn't exist] or put/patch [resource exists]. Because of this, An additional GET request has to be made before deciding on either post or put/patch. I'm sure this is a bug of sorts.

Isn't it possible to avoid that based on whether the object posesses an _id ?

Client-side upserts seem a bit odd, perhaps there is a specific use-case I'm missing?
