Nomination: NFT.StorageImpact: Free decentralized storage and bandwidth for NFTs on IPFS and Filecoin—and really easy to use! NFT.Storage launched in April 2021. Since then, we’ve simplified adding resilience to off-chain NFT data for NFTs and proven ourselves as a de facto public good. We’re known for NFT.Storage stands as a pivotal infrastructure for NFTs. By leveraging Filecoin's decentralized storage capabilities alongside IPFS's content addressing and peer-to-peer networking functionalities, NFT.Storage offers a secure, verifiable, and blockchain-based decentralized storage solution for NFT data—all for free. Impact:
More about our products, and their impact on end user UX: The data is content-addressed, then pinned to the NFT.Storage Gateway, and securely stored in the Filecoin network at no charge. This solution secures the long-term integrity and availability of the NFTs. Moreover, the integration of the Filecoin network ensures a secure and verifiable storage mechanism. Filecoin decentralizes the storage process across a wide network of providers, who are contractually required to accurately store data and submit periodic cryptographic proofs to the blockchain. These proofs validate their storage commitment and adherence to protocol, ensuring the durability and integrity of NFT data over time. This dual-technology architecture underpins the NFT.Storage’s mission to deliver a reliable, accessible, and transparent storage solution for the NFT community. Pinning API NFT.Storage Gateway And last but not least, we wanted to share some of the love we recently got from the community with you. Link to Project: Github - Twitter/X |

The project name: A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) Launch of Decentralized Domain Name Service (FNS) based on FVM: Part A. What have we do? 1.We launched FNS - Filecoin Domain Name Service b.Integration of FNS into Filecoin's top browser FILSCAN Part B. The impacts FNS brought to the FVM ecosystem. 1.Established the foundational infrastructure for the FVM's Decentralized Identity (DID) track. Users can utilize FNS as their WEB3 identity marker to participate in various WEB3 projects. 2.Introduced new traffic to the FVM ecosystem. 3.FNS domains can be used as storage accounts, facilitating the promotion of IPFS and Filecoin. FNS innovates the usage scenarios of the DID track. FNS can be used as storage accounts. By integrating FNS with IPFS, genuine open-network applications and websites can be created. Users can store and host websites or applications on IPFS, using FNS for decentralized naming, thereby enhancing the advantages of decentralization in websites and applications. 4.Strengthened the deflation mechanism of FIL token. Project Name:FILLiquid Positive Impact (October 2023 - March 2024):FILLiquid represents a pioneering venture in the realm of decentralized finance (DeFi) on the Filecoin network. As a fully open-source, algorithm-driven lending platform integrated with the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM), FILLiquid introduces an innovative liquidity pool model. This platform not only empowers FIL token holders to stake their assets for passive interest gains but also enables Storage Providers (SPs) to secure FIL loans essential for expanding storage capabilities. Unlike other lending services in the marketplace, FILLiquid distinguishes itself through its adoption of an automatic market maker (AMM) approach. The transparency and thoroughness of its algorithms are detailed in its white paper, positioning FILLiquid as a cornerstone for the flourishing of the Filecoin DeFi ecosystem. The potential for various derivatives based on FILLiquid further amplifies its significance. In the span of the last six months, FILLiquid has achieved notable milestones including the completion of all necessary contracts, designs, and implementations. Currently, the platform is undergoing a rigorous audit process alongside the launch of its testnet, with the anticipation of its mainnet going live in the upcoming months. FILLiquid exemplifies how algorithmic support can enhance the Filecoin ecosystem's infrastructure. Nominating Project: Data HorizonEnhancing Filecoin Utility through Onboarding and Indexing of the World’s Largest Open Datasets The objective of our project, Data Horizon, is to seamlessly store all 191+ datasets cataloged on OpenPanda. Our focus lies in ensuring data integrity, efficient indexing, and retrieval mechanisms, thereby showcasing Filecoin's capability to safeguard and provide access to crucial human knowledge. This initiative stands as a beacon amidst ongoing debates, illustrating best practices in data validation and accessibility. Although our previous grant proposal garnered positive feedback and support from core developers, storage providers and many community members, it was paused or rejected due to funding constraints. We see this opportunity as pivotal to realize this project for the benefit of all stakeholders. Impact Description:Improving data authenticity, retrieval efficiency, and overall utility represents a significant opportunity within the Filecoin ecosystem. By onboarding the world’s largest open datasets, we aim to amplify the value proposition of Filecoin, attracting more users and potentially increasing token demand. Embracing this initiative is crucial to maintaining trust, fostering user engagement, and ultimately enhancing network value. Success in this endeavour will result in a robust, reliable dataset readily accessible on the Filecoin network, catering to a wide array of computational projects. Project Objectives:

Nomination: Fileverse HeartBit SDK Description of project and impact HeartBit started as an experiment to put IPFS at the heart of onchain social interactions. This led to the creation of an open SDK following its success on Farcaster and EthDenver (see metrics and links hereunder). The SDK is simple to use for both web2 and web3 developers, allowing them to add time-based, provable onchain and CID-based Likes & Minting to their dApp, website, onchain media, Frames, and more. For example, this book was stored on IPFS and all people reading it via Frame were minting HeartBits all pointing back to the book e.g., https://warpcast.com/miroyato/0xe74b6e97 One aspect that contributed to the success of HeartBit in the past months is that it is compatible with native crypto social media and leverages protocols like Safe and Hats. The SDK now allows developers to quickly create a smart account-based Farcaster Frame or Lens Open Action which manages UserOps on behalf of people interacting with it (signless and gasless). For example, anyone at EthDenver this website was made to combine onchain and offchain experiences https://ethdenver.fileverse.io/ . Visitors were able to share the speaker profile of anyone speaking at EthDenver, in one click, as a Frame or Open Action. Every person interacting with the Frame/OpenAction could find IPFS-addressed content and mint HeartBits onchain with a hash pointing the HeartBit back to the actual content on IPFS. See for example: https://warpcast.com/miroyato/0xd71aa752 (farcaster) and https://hey.xyz/posts/0x8e-0x0cdb-DA-8ec3208d (lens) The metrics from the first few experiments and crypto community interactions speak for themselves:

Nomination A description of the positive impact of this project for this specific category over the past six months (Oct 2023 - Mar 2024) Introduction On Chymia, users deposit FVM’s tokens, such as FIL or liquid staking tokens, and borrow cUSD, a Filecoin native stablecoin that is not reliant on non-crypto assets. The protocol is designed to ensure that cUSD is overcollateralized, and can be used at any time to redeem deposited collateral at face value. Being able to borrow cUSD using idle tokens opens up unlimited possibilities for Filecoin users to increase yields and manage risks. Having a decentralized and overcollateralized stablecoin also opens the door for FVM builders to start deploying wide-ranging dApps that can benefit the entire Filecoin community. Some examples of direct positive impact
We have been building Chymia for the past few months and the product is currently on Calibration testnet. We aim to launch on Mainnet by late April 2024. A link to the project’s GitHub or Twitter Contact info for the project or project lead |
