We are in immediate need of a benchmarking application that can be deployed on various Intel and AMD based high performance computing systems that SCI is considering for purchase.
More generally, having an application that can be used for benchmarking FEBio will be very useful to other users who may be considering computing hardware purchases.
Some suggestions for problems to include:
3D Lung Tumor model (Michael)
Forward or warping problem that Steven has been working on
One of Luke's hip models
SWRI whole body model
OTHERS?
We need a script that will set up and execute each problem with the appropriate setting(s) for OMP_NUM_THREADS and tabulate the results (check results values, compile timing information). The script should contain information on the memory resources required to run each problem so the person running the problem can determine whether sufficient resources will be available.
The termination times for the problems can be shortened if needed so that they run in a reasonable amount of time.
This is now needed urgently since SCI is getting ready to do testing on various hardware to guide purchasing.
Thanks,
Jeff
