It would be benefitial to be able to link journal entries to icons on maps or ressources, as well as ressources to icons on maps, etc.

When selecting a icon on the map, a direct link to the journal entry or ressource is show (hyperlink for example) - and vice versa
Linking those elements could be done either/and by having a button in the elements to create another element (e.g. journal to journal, journal to map, map to ressource, etc.) or/and by simply having a link field (e.g. Meldungsnummer: ffebd35a-0665-42e6-9f33-eeff60a59bbf)
The issue #344 could also implemented in the same manner.

Thanks for creating the idea here and welcome to the sitrep community.

Absolutely agree with what you request and we envision another flow for drawing than the currently implemented dedicated map view. One of our core concepts is: We want to center everything around the message routing.

Whenever a message is triaged for the map, you should be able to draw for that message context alone. The same goes also for adding and linking persons and resources which should be done in the triaging already.

The overall map will then be a plain read-only representation of all drawings/features applied (at a given time). This would also allow us to show the development of the situation over time, whereas the message timestamp define the drawings even if the drawings were done later in the process.

That at least is our vision, the current map is mainly for visualizing the editor/drawing functionality and therefore still labelled as a beta feature. The initial release of the map was in February.
