Hi Jason.
I would be very interested to see this supporting JS8Call mode, say with heartbeat packets.

Thanks for this great project!

Hi Patrick,

I'm certainly not opposed to the idea of adding new modes to the library. Also, I say this without any on-the-air experience in the mode. It's my understanding that JS8Call is a conversational mode adaptation of FT8, so with that being the case I'm not certain that it would be appropriate for a beaconing/telemetry type of message type that JTEncode is meant for. However, since I know very little about the mode, maybe there's support for those types of messages that I'm not aware of? Let me know a bit more about why I should invest some time in this.

Thanks,
Jason

Hi Jason,
I would like to express an interest in JS8 mode also. (See: https://github.com/jsherer/ft8call)

As you mention, JS8 is an extension of FT8 and includes a conversational mode. It does, however, have some useful telemetry modes. One such mode that I have been experimenting with a little is its APRS capabilities. A 12 character maidenhead grid can be encoded to report as a fairly accurate APRS location.

Unfortunately my programming skills are limited, but I would be happy to provide whatever assistance possible to develop this.

Regards,
Leighton
