This is the latest version without triangular supports, will add them in until Tuesday's meeting. I have placed the belt holder inside the column, and this part will be 3D printed. The placement of this new system can be seen in the assembly screenshot below. These screenshots also include a belt mockup for better visualization.
My idea is to keep the top part for the column with the 3D parts inside unglued, for easy access.

This is the version with the triangular side supports. Their height is easily adjustable, as well as their width.

@feeds This is the first full assembly here. I do think we have additional small improvements to stabilize the columns and make their assembly to base board easier. Another bottom support would also be a good idea to stabilize the ends of the base board better. This version also is adapted to the old version of the clamp, but I have made the slits larger so that we can still use the already printed clamps to test. I will also adjust the 3D printed pulley holders so that they are not as fragile as they are. I also believe some column-to-column supports along the x axis bars would be a good idea. Another thing to update is the servo, we should secure it to its attached piece probably. I will also do a better glue job for the next version :)

The bars slide smoothly and all is level.

I see that you will build a second version and that is ok. I would still try to get the motors on this thing running until Tuesday, because this would not change much. :)

We saw that with the gear added onto the motor shelf, we are unable to fully touch that column with the y axis. We had previously discussed putting the motor inside the column, like @gruvw suggested, so I have designed an additional version and built that as well. @unglazedstamp tested the calibration of the start position, and it seemed to work. I haven't been able to take pictures of it yesterday, but i will add them as soon as the entire assembly is finished.

Edit: somehow, the connection joints of triangular supports to the base are gone, but will fix that ASAP.

Here is the assembly on onshape:

Sorry for the late upload, this is the latest assembly. The base is still for the old clamp, but it is not yet glued down to the columns so we will have no issue replacing it. Also, there is another minor adjustment left for one of the columns, that will be done on onshape today and will be assembled tomorrow.
