Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a client with autoReconnect = true
  2. Connect to a broker
  3. Disconnect the client
  4. Try reconnecting the client and fail (i.e while the device is still locked)

Expected: The client retries the connection and eventually connects
Actual: The client does not attempt to reconnect
