As stated in the subject: the "CONTRIBUTING.md" file for electorama/abif is still kind of a disaster (as of 2021-08-19). A minimum viable product (MVP) for that file would make it so that @robla feels more comfortable accepting pull requests.

I am pretty clueless about the choice of an exact license, but I think we don't need copyleft (so a permissive license is OK) and we need some stealth patenting provision.
@simberaj - consider yourself lucky that you're "clueless" about choice of license; my years of experience have only made me more aware of the complicated tradeoffs 😄. For purposes of the specification and the test suite, I'm inclined to use something like the Apache License. It seems as though a copyleft license (such as AGPL 3.0 or CC-by-sa 4.0) could hinder adoption, but choosing something too permissive might cause our small ABIF community to splinter into several subcommunities. More to think about...
