UI metrics is deprecated in favor of UI Counters. We currently send both payloads until we have a full transition to UI Counters.

This is an issue tracker for removing ui_metrics from the usage data payload.

  • Stop storing ui_metrics saved objects. Instead use ui_counters data to rebuild the ui_metrics payload.
  • [Blocked] UI_counters can be fully used on telemetry-next (https://github.com/elastic/telemetry/issues/1327)
  • [Blocked] Prepare a migration doc for people to start using ui_counters instead of ui_metrics. Running stats aggregations against the ui_counters should provide all the data previously provided by ui_metrics.
  • [Blocked] Remove UI_metrics from kibana payloads.
