Feature Description

Currently, there is no good way of working on several data explorations at the same time. The users simply do not have an easy way to navigate through multiple investigations in Discover.

Tabs provide a visually intuitive and accessible solution, allowing users to switch between sections seamlessly, reducing cognitive load, and enhancing the overall user experience. They offer a structured and organized way to manage and access information, improving usability and productivity.

The saved searches and saved queries are too far away from the user, which makes it difficult to work on several queries at the same time. This challenge has grown with the introduction of ES|QL because users who are accustomed to writing long and precise queries are also accustomed to working on several of them at the same time.

Each tab will be its own Discover Session

Use cases:

  • Work on several queries at the same time in Discover, regardless if these queries are KQL, ESQL.
  • Work on several investigations at the same time (Security use-case).

Streamlined Navigation:

Tabs enable users to effortlessly switch between different searches, queries, sections, etc. within an application, providing a seamless and intuitive navigation experience.

Increased Productivity:

By simplifying navigation and reducing cognitive load, sharable tabs enhance collaboration and productivity, allowing multiple users to work efficiently within shared environments or projects.
