Currently, there is no native capability in our product to track SLI trends over time. This limitation prevents customers from analyzing long-term performance trends, such as gradual degradation or seasonal variations, which are crucial for effective SLO management. While a workaround exists—using queries provided by support—this requires additional effort and technical knowledge from customers, which could detract from the user experience.

Proposal

Introduce a native feature to track and visualize historical SLI data directly within the platform in the SLO detail page. This could include:

  • Trend charts for SLI performance over customizable time ranges (e.g., days, weeks, months).
  • Insights into seasonal patterns orr gradual performance degradation.
  • Historical data export functionality for external analysis.

Value

  • Simplifies SLI and SLO management by providing built-in tools for long-term trend analysis
  • Improves transparency and usability, reducing dependency on custom queries or external tools

The History tab on the SLO details page is a beginning, but can definitely be improved and supports also calendar based SLOs.
