Good news! We actually already have the Dashboard links panel, which should accomplish a version of this - they effectively work like drilldowns, but I hope you find that the UI is much more straightforward.

I've got some fairly complicated dashboards, that involve using a complex set of filters. A common problem I have is that the dashboards won't fit on one page in the browser - and the users have to scroll up & down to see the relevant parts.
What would be way better would be if you could split a dashboard up into titled tabs, with a filter applied in one tab automatically applying to all the tabs in that dashboard.
(I know you can get some of this functionality by using drill-downs - but I find this a bit fiddly to setup and use. I think having collapsed dashboards would be much easier to use & have a more modern feel.)
This feature would support our use of elasticsearch for data analytics.
