Based on this JIRA issue created by @smith.

I set up a custom log integration for a log file, but it hasn’t had any events in the last 15 minutes.

I’m in logs explorer, I select my integration, it goes to the empty result screen but I can’t change the time range now unless I go back to all log datasets. There’s just no time picker"

duplicate of #166863

I think this behavior is inherited from and consistent with the unified search components we use. If there is no matching index it will treat it as a non-timestamp data view. As soon as there is a matching index with a @timestamp field, the timepicker will show up.
