[Dashboard home] Add ability to edit name, description and tags from the list page

Describe the feature:
When I am looking at the list of Dashboards, I want to be able to edit the name, description or add tags. But today in order to do this I have to

1. Open the dashboard
2. Make some change (I can't save without a change)
3. Save & remember to make the edits I wanted or I have to go back & start again

It's incredibly frustrating!

Instead, I'd like to have a UI affordance to edit the string without leaving the listing page and similarly add/remove tags,

This is a great idea! I think it should be prioritized alongside adding a 'Last modified Date' column to the listing page. I will make sure to bring this up at our planning meeting.

I'm not sure if this is what you're already doing, though I found in Kibana 8.2 as long as you're editing the dashboard you can click on Save as in the top right, then a modal will pop up, from there you can turn the Save as new dashboard toggle off and then make the changes to the title, description and tags. Clicking save in the modal will now just make the edits on the opened dashboard.

This saves you having to make a change to the dashboard. For me this was the only method I could find of changing those details anyway, so I'm not sure if I'm just regurgitating what you've said or if being on 8.2 changes things.

Obviously having the features you're talking about would be nicer, though hope this can help in the mean time. I also thought having to edit these details by clicking on the Save as button made it a bit hidden. Took me a while to find since I wasn't actually wanting to "Save as", at least in the commonly used sense of the term.

You're exactly right @saernz. There is a way to change these details, via save as exactly as you've described, but it is pretty hidden / inaccessible. This issue is about extending the functionality of the listing page to allow these sorts of edits, because that is where users generally look for this behaviour.

That said, it's good to document the existing workaround for any folks who find this issue, so thank you for doing that!
