  • Try alternative goal and scoring: deal out from 4 (easiest) to 0 (hardest) surviving piece types. Discard any kings or duplicates and replace them. Goal is to completely eliminate all piece types, except the kings and survivors, then capture one of the kings. Score is number of cards left in the deck and your hands. Score -1 if you have no card to play and have not completed the game, minus one for each piece type that you have not eliminated, other than kings and designated survivors.
  • Clarify that draw deck is face down.
  • Clarify that players still play Black and White, but the deck of cards is giving them a goal and restricting their captures.
  • List which cards to remove, instead of which cards to include? Describe specialized cards as the default?
  • Clarify which discard pile is which, maybe with a note on the diagram.
  • Clarify that we're talking about king and knight as alternative moves, not following moves.
  • Add reminder in following move, that knight can attack anything, because of noncapturing move.
  • Define double colour match before using the term.
  • "Next captured card" is confusing.
  • List hand cards for second example. (Alternative moves, I think.)
  • Add reminder that you can't capture without a card, so double colour matches are more useful later in the game. Play your partner's colour when neither of you have a discard stack.
