Meta: Should this card be renamed?

I suspect that (reasonably) frigate-hass-card may suggest to people that this card is Frigate only, when it actually supports any generic cameras and is easily extended to support advanced functionality for other camera types (e.g. already supports more advanced motionEye functionality).

Example new name: camera-card

Pros to renaming:

• Broader appeal to users & developers.
• No loss in functionality for Frigate (will always be a 1st class supported camera).

Cons to renaming:

• Less obviously related to Frigate for people new to the ecosystem.
• Potential disruption to (all) existing users.

I think this is totally worth it. The name certainly prevents people from even trying it out.

I like the camera-card suggestion, especially considering that there isn't one already in Hass.

But here are other suggestions:

• x-camera-card (Elon upvotes this one)
• better-camera-card
• ultimate-camera-card
• custom-camera-card
• pro-camera-card
• camera-card-plus
• improved-camera-card
• advanced-camera-card
• enhanced-camera-card

While I really like camera-card and I think this card is indeed in par to be THE camera-card, my main concern about it is that it will be harder to credit or to refer to it.

Imagine in a conversation:

Hey, you should use camera-card, it is really good.

(Which camera-card? is this an official thing? it may require to say "@dermotduffy's camera-card")

While something like x-camera-card would not require such disambiguation.

There are a lot of frigate users that haven't naturally discovered the card even with frigate in the name, I wouldn't worry about renaming it,.

I think it good to support other cameras, however there is "Development help wanted" issue too, so I suggest maybe not doing the switch before that issue get's resolved mostly because additional support bandwidth. If other system users start using it there will be new issues cropping up or just additional support from more people figuring out how to use it.

Regarding the name I do not have a good suggestion but suggest going with something a bit more specific then just camera card because it would get hard to search. I think some 3 word combo cold be good it also permits use of abbreviations.
Also about the word card I think this project has grown far beyond capabilities of what most people expect then they get introduced to HA cards. It dose not just display a temperature number or a picture it is a fully featured customizable GUI for an NVR. You can use it basic form but really it much more than that, so I suggest using something would indicate that or replace the word card? *** advanced card or nvr-interface-card
