APIs affected (if applicable)

Veteran Verification API

What I expected to happen

  1. Configured add as described in readme of https://github.com/department-of-veterans-affairs/vets-api-clients/tree/master/samples/oauth_react & did the workaround as described here
  2. Logged in successfully using 2 test accounts from the top here: [email protected] & [email protected]
  3. During login gave consent to grant access to service history & disability rating.

What actually happened

Can see disability rating OK
image
but not service history

Severity of the issue

  • High severity: Blocking work

  • Medium severity: Not blocking work, but needs attention

  • Low severity: Needs attention in a timely manner

  • I am unable to use the API

  • I was able to use the API, but am not getting the results I expected

  • I was able to workaround the issue

Hi @pete-experimenter2 is this still an issue? Please let us know if fixing the samples.js resolved this.

hi, @ryanlink!

thank you for your response and sorry for my delayed response. I tried once again and keep on getting Access Denied
image
Incident ID: 276000420000762067-1646557335390857

all I tried to do was to use ID.me to login
image

I tried from 3 different location: 2 VPNs & one from Russia which is where I am at, but the result would be the same. What could cause the issue?

Hi @pete-proton - ID.me's integration with the VA APIs is only accessible from within the US. This error just means you were geo-filtered out, trying to call the API from Russia. Your VPNs may be blacklisted, which would explain why those aren't working either. I'm doubtful that we can create an exception by IP address, but if you would like to petition for access from outside the US, please provide justification and the specific public IP address you will be accessing from. You may email those to [email protected]. Thanks!

HI @ryanlink
I have similar kind of issue. I am using the same React Demo App from github
After successfully redirection from node console i.e., after npm start ,the page shown below is coming up
issue2

Then after logging into ID.me account via test users of Veteran Health API. The Disability Rating or the Service History nothing is coming up. Its coming back to the screen shown below with a error.
issue1

Error link: http://localhost:8080/implicit/callback#state=7591d3d0b35e41d1bc26ac15bc7e4d37&error=access_denied&error_description=Policy+evaluation+failed+for+this+request%2C+please+check+the+policy+configurations.

I have used multiple different test users
All logins are giving the same error.

Please Help!

Hi @santy78 - I do not see an error message in your 2nd screenshot. Could you please provide the full text of the error? Also, have you obtained a sandbox client ID and secret from developer.va.gov/apply? Kindly provide your full name and email address, or send an email to [email protected] for support.

Please ensure that you are using a non-Health test user if testing the Verification API. They are further down in the same document.
