Hi, I'lld like to change from Stephans integration to this version.
How do I do this safely? Are there things I should or shouldn't do? Or definately have to do? I have a HYD5000es inverter.

Hi @bert1111, there is really nothing what you can do to really mess up anything so. Every action is completely reversible and so.

But some entity names could be different and proly will be different than you are used to as we are currently going trough naming standardization which should be finished in comming version.

There are two solutions:

After switch you simply use definition file you were using with previous integration. Put it in the inverter_definitions/custom/ folder and reconfigure your device to use that custom profile.
Or by following step by step manual from our wiki page under Naming Scheme for switching to new naming scheme (It's about transfering your history).

Is better to first remove previous integration and then download this one to prevent any inconveniences in the future with removing that previous integration.

And I would suggest you to wait for 14.08.2024 when is the new release scheduled.

Hi David, thanks for your quick reply.
I just tried but it won't connect. Do I have to make the custom folder myself? I don't see it in the inverter_definitions folder.
I downloaded a log file. I see something about crc error. Do I report this in another place?

I have a Sofar HYD5000es. I first used the one I used in the previous integration and then I tried the one I found in the folder that was installed by your integration. Both called "sofar_hyd3k-6k-es.yaml". With Stephans integration I was running v1.4.3. There was a disconnect error in v1.5.1 if I recall correctly.

Okay but were you even able to connect using that 1.51? Cause there were big changes between those version and I'm using the same library as he started using in that newer version.

Registers should be all the same in those files only visual could be different (Meaning sensor names)

Can you enable debug logging and show me the log please?

It randomly disconnected, the same as this issue I think. StephanJoubert/home_assistant_solarman#621
This guy seems to have the same problem, but I don't know if he contacted you. StephanJoubert/home_assistant_solarman#643.

I hope I'm doing this right.

Yes he did contacted me and we were able to resolve his issue by using this profile: zcs_azzurro-hyd-zss-hp.yaml

This has the exact registers as the sofar_hyd3k-6k-es.yaml located in this repo so when comes to register numbers it should be fine.

Yes, but I saw the first few lines of the file are different. I thought maybe there is an error in there? I'm not a programmer, I was just looking for differences that I could spot.

Yes it is different but cause this integration has additional features which that file is using. For example dynamically resolving register requests from defined sensors so it really needs that requests sets only when there are some different modbus codes needed.

Look it's simple just run it with debug logging enabled and give me the log which it produces. That's the only way how it could be resolved.

Those are the only times I saw it today. It doesn't affect anything by the looks of it. I'll probably ignore this error for now unless you want me to keep an eye on this?

I mean if it's not causing you any issues.

Just for the record if you could try to do some more debugging and catch both cases happen again:

Querying (512 - 597) failed. #1220 [CRCError: CRC validation failed.]
Querying (4272 - 4284) failed. #7025 [CRCError: CRC validation failed.]

But so is in the log also included the next successful request after both of them?
