As raised in #30, after creating a new instance, there is no indication that it still needs to be launched. The edit icon seems to indicate that one can edit the instance, but that's different than actually running it (which implies acting upon or with the instance, rather than editing it). This could be addressed via UI (a message informing the user that the instance still needs to be run) or via UX (simply running the instance when it's created, as one would reasonably expect).

I can see why requiring the user to navigate to the edit interface makes sense. (Admin password on the instance needs to be changed.) But I agree - adding an indicator in the instance list directing users to start instance makes sense.
