Where do "I am an x how do I do y" questions go? #117
Comments
We have a discussions tab on dask/dask. I would think that could be a good spot for this kind of thing. People have started using it for Q/A |
Does anyone get notifications from discussions? |
They come through on my regular github notifications since I am watching dask/dask |
I didn't know that, thanks. It can be another place that maintainers should regularly check, then - although I see very little activity there right now. |
That's great I didn't know about that. We could add a link to the issue template to direct folks there. Similar to the Stack Overflow one. |
I'll move my (hopefully only 1 more) question over there instead of using Stack Overflow then. Need to reconstruct a crappy question anyways. |
Just checking in, @jacobtomlinson is it safe to close this issues since dask/.github#10 has been merged? |
Yup thanks! |
An interesting question came up in dask/dask-kubernetes#277 where a user was trying to find out information on how to use Dask in their workflows.
It wasn't a specific "I'm trying to write this code and it doesn't work" type question that I would normally direct to Stack Overflow. It was a broader "How can I use Dask to achieve y?" question.
It wasn't clear where this type of question should go. I feel like it's the kind of thing that should live on a forum. I seem to remember @mrocklin talking about forums at one point.
Where should this kind of question go?
