*RESOLVED* cannot do AT commands

Hello All,

More newbie questions here.
With a new em7455 modem, can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong that I can not issue any AT commands to this modem. am most familiar with picocom,but have tried Putty as well. It is as though upon launching either of these they are locked up. Cant even press enter key to get a new line break? Tried on all three com ports created by the em7455.
