CORRECTION: Suddenly it seemed I got the USB port working. I would very much appreciate any more ideas for getting it past the whitelist... perhaps delaying it longer after booting the system? Any clues appreciated! |

Hang on! Not so fast... Just discovered that for Lenovo, the modem needs different commands for programming. But... upon mounting the modem back in the laptop: But I feel I am really getting close now to mastering this conundrum. As always, any clues appreciated. |

Dear sir,
Your script for flashing the modem looked extremely impressive and a great piece of work.
I have a Lenovo Yoga 260 and a Sierra Wireless AirPrime 3P10Y modem (model EM7455.
Bought the USB interface for the modem and put that together.
Boot in Ubuntu, then ran your complete script.
At first, it did not recognize a modem in the USB port and the script kept asking to unplug and re-insert the USB cable. After some fiddling, suddenly the script came alive.
It seemed like it was flashing the firmware, the small blue LED on the USB interface flashed anyway.
After 'reboot to normal mode' the script ended with not finding the USB.
I changed the USB cable for several others. No luck.
I tried the modem in the LEnovo Yoga 260, perhaps all was okay ?
But no: ERROR 1802: un-authorized modem. Hmmm.
It would seem I am a bit stuck. Rebooted into Unbuntu, ran the script again, but it cannot find the modem on the USB port (unplug and reinsert, etc.)
Any clues?
Greetings from the Netherlands,
Job
