Does plantCV support operation in 3d matrices?

Hello,

I bumped into PlantCV while looking into a way to perform skeletonisation and branch detection for a very different problem that what you normally work with (namely, cerebral vessel topology and morphology). I saw that PlantCV has everything I need to do what I need to do, but I was wondering if its operations support 3d matrices (especially the branch detection algorithm) or just 2d images?
