what happens

When I open notedeck, notedeck is loading replies, notifications etc. For my particular npub npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5, and network conditions, it took about 30 seconds to load my latest notifications.

Possibly this is due to over 2500 follows, and 9 relays, and/or my internet connection.

During this time, I had no indication that notedeck was pulling notes, notification events etc.

I did not know if notedeck is not updating, or updating.

This uncertainty was a negative experience.

suggestion

It should be clear at all times what is going on in notedeck.

If notedeck is checking for events, downloading events, waiting for a relay response, event XYZ that involves waiting/loading, there should be some UI indicator/affordance/animation that indicates loading is taking place.
