Hi @danipolani, I've not looked into this in some time so I'm not sure if things have "standardised" per say since. For now I'll keep this issue open and you can try using the ITS Checkboxes snippet mentioned in the comment above. |
I understand the hesitation to support this natively, but I'm not in love with the suggested snippet's renditions. If there is no standard, why not work to create one by aligning with one of the more popular takes out there? Then you would have at least 2 very popular themes supporting the same alternative checklists. That should compel new (or hopefully even some existing) themes to join in. In fact, we could publish a post on the Obsidian forums or elsewhere promoting this standard. If you find this argument compelling/inspiring (and I terribly hope you do, as this is the only aspect of Prism that is still nagging me, despite loving everything else about it and not wanting to switch back to alternatives ever again), then I would suggest aligning with the alternative checklists supported by the Minimal theme (which is currently the most downloaded theme, with nearly twice as many downloads as the runner-up): If I'm not mistaken, these same 22 checklist styles are also supported by the Things theme and the LYT Mode theme (feels like the beginning of a standard). I think the AnuPpuccin theme and the ITS theme (from which the snippet you suggested comes from) support these 22 and more. Some themes (like Border and Aura) support a majority of these 22. If nothing else please consider natively supporting the subset of alternative checklists categorized as "Basics" in the image above, as popular plugins like Tasks support these (well, at least the top 4 of the 6). Thank you for your (re-?)consideration, and for this great theme! |
Hi @kaveh-ahmadian and @danipolani, All discussion on this subject will continue there. |
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'm using several themes (Prism, AnuPpuccin, Border, PLN) and among those only Prism doesn't support any task statuses except for [ ] and [x].
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be great if Prism would display tasks with [-], [<], [>] statuses differently from completed ones, like most popular themes do.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Now I'm using emojis to indicate additional task status, but that adds more manual work and makes dataview queries less universal.
