macOS installer can only install in standard locations

With the dmg installer I had the possibility to drag and drop the app bundle anywhere I want. With the pkg installer that is not possible anymore. I can only choose whether it will be installer in /Applications or /Users/bert/Applications, or on a specific disk, but not the exact path. Not sure if that's easy to fix?

This does not appear to be supported with pkg installers. It's /Applications, ~/Applications, or a disk.
