Here is how we imagine it:

The files are displayed very similar to any github file display.
Snippets of code with errors are shown with the padding of a configurable parameter of lines above and below.
Syntax highlighting ( Probably can use GTKSourceView)
The file shown would have a button for expandability very similar to github.
A later on addition could be editing in place.
