Perhaps this is something we should handle client side? Eg. https://tanstack.com/query/v4/docs/react/guides/optimistic-updates |

Because of the small latency in updating our database entries, dropping a value is showing a small glitch. Is there a recommended approach for optimistically handling database updates?
