Problem Reports with MacOS/Apple Silicon

I wonder if there are people using this add-on with Apple devices, especially those with M1/M2 chips. I only have a rather old MacBook with an Intel CPU and cannot test the add-on with Apple silicon. Therefore, it would be helpful for Mac users to specify your MacBook model and chipset if you encounter problems in MacOS and want to submit an issue. And we can also discuss these problems here.

I am trying to record a pending issue that has been reported to me elsewhere. Currently I am not sure if my solution will work, and I may update it later. The problem is a failure to install triangle with Blender 3.4, MacOS and M1.

Possible Solution 1

First, install wheel using the following commands in Terminal:

cd /Applications/Blender.app/Contents/Resources/3.4/python/bin/
./python3.10 -m ensurepip
./python3.10 -m pip install wheel

If it works, try installing triangle again either in the add-on setting or Terminal:

./python3.10 -m pip install triangle

Possible Solution 2

I recommend trying Solution 1 first. But if it does not work, another solution may be to install Command Line Tools for Xcode, which can be found from the Apple official website:
https://developer.apple.com/download/all/

Hello! I arrived here because I can't install triangle on 3.4, 3.5, 3.6 (Mac M1 Max). The last Python command gives me this error: ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement triangle (from versions: none) ERROR: No matching distribution found for triangle I tried @b4zz4 addon, and it gave me this message if it helps: Could it be that the triangle package is not compatible/not available with Apple M1 chips?

Thanks for the information. I checked again and it seems to be true that triangle does not provide MacOS ARM builds. Multiple issues have been submitted to the author but have not been answered. Therefore, the methods above won't work.

triangle is used in two operators:

• Mesh Generation: If the triangle is not installed, you can change the Mesh Style to "Grid" to make it work.
• Line Cleanup: Currently, this one cannot work without triangle. I am thinking of using Blender's delaunay_2d_cdt instead. If it works, I will release a new version and also update here.

If you install the add-on for other features, they will not be affected by this issue.

Edited: It may be confusing because I accidentally used the wrong GitHub account to reply. I am the same person as the maintainer and will be working on this issue soon.

Looks like the python3-dev program is missing.
I don't know how to install that in macOS.
