Important Notice: Upcoming API Endpoint Deprecation
As the napari hub evolves and our needs change, we occasionally need to deprecate certain endpoints that are no longer actively used. In this regard, we would like to inform you of some upcoming changes.
We plan to deprecate the following https://api.napari-hub.org endpoints, which are either no longer used by the napari hub frontend, or will become private. Access to these endpoints will be discontinued in Q3, and no earlier than July 1, 2023.
/plugins
/plugins/{name}/versions/{version}
/plugins/excluded
/plugins/index
/manifest/{name}
/manifest/{name}/versions/<version>
/metrics/{name}
We understand these changes may affect some of our users who rely on these endpoints. Therefore, we strongly recommend migrating to the napari project's API, which powers the plugin installer in napari. You can access the napari project's API at the following URL: https://api.napari.org
The napari project's API offers similar functionality to these endpoints. We encourage you to start exploring and adapting to it as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted integration with the napari ecosystem.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to comment below before June 2, 2023. After June 2, we will begin implementing this deprecation. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve the maintainability of the napari hub.
Best,
Richa Agarwal
