The "Family Tree Summary" splitbar in the Dashboard CardView would less disruptive as default Bottombar Gramplet. The standard Dashboard already has a static multi-column GUI but only has a column-spanning split in the bottombar. So this fits there more seamlessly.

That makes the CardView Dashboard a more evolved variant of the Dashboard GUI: with dynamic column count & wrap control and more compact containers.
