Like we do for DC workshops and are discussing for SWC & LC workshops, we should rely on setup instructions that are in the lesson repo.

What's on the setup page now is different from what's on this repo's preparation section.

Thanks for the suggestion @brownsarahm, that sounds like a good idea to remove the installation instructions on the training template. You now have Maintainer privileges on this repo so feel free to implement the change 😄

I am trying to catch up with some old issues here, and I think this one is worth changing. However, it brings to my attention that the Setup page is also inconsistent with our template email to trainees! I will aim to address this in the current curriculum updates, then submit a change here.

@fmichonneau incidentally it would also be helpful for me to have write access on this repo, and probably @klbarnes20 too. :)

I am hesitant to adjust this template language now, given that @klbarnes20 will be reviewing our full communications stream in Q3. However, the mismatch between this template, the Setup page on the IT curriculum, and the IT workshop website template is a problem. I am proposing changes in all 3 locations in an attempt to minimally align content for now.

This has been taken care of.

So is the goal for the setup page to be the primary source and then this refers to that?

Maybe, but not yet. @klbarnes20 Q3 project is looking at the flow of our communications from start to finish to reorganize and streamline. In this context she will be determining where duplication is necessary/desirable and where information should be consolidated to a single source.
